On 28th November, 2025 NBBGC hosted a farewell programme in college seminar hall in honour of three retired members of the college fraternity, Prof. Namarata Tamang from Department of Zoology, Mr. Tseten Bhutia and Bir Bahadur Subba from the non-teaching staff.
Prof. Namrata retired on 31st December, 2024 after a tenure of twenty-nine years. Mr. Tseten Bhutia had joined College on 13thApril, 1992 and retired on 30th April, 2025; Mr. Bir Bahadur Subba had joined on 1st March, 1992 and retired on 31st January, 2025. The farewell programme celebrated their journey of dedication, wisdom and decades of service that touched the countless lives of the college.
The programme was attended by students, teaching faculty and members of the administrative wing of the college led by Principal, Dr. D. Purohit and ADM, Mr. Munna Pradhan, respectively.
The programme began with the arrival of the guests and lighting of the lamps by Principal, Vice Principal, ADM, Professor Tamang, Mr. Bhutia and Mr. Subba followed by the offering of the welcome khada. Dr. Chongtick Lachungpa, Convenor, Farewell Committee delivered the welcome speech. On behalf of NBBGC fraternity, the Principal presented felicitation citation, shawl and gratitude gift to all three retirees.
The programme saw a mix of emotions- choked throats, misty eyes, laughter and joy as colleagues of the retired members recalled old times. Beautiful songs were presented by Ms.Renuka Chettri, Mr. Santosh Subba and Dr. Tashi T. Bhutia followed by a lively Maruni dance by the students of Department of Zoology. The programme concluded with Principal’s address followed by the vote of thanks by Dr. Gita Niroula. The MC for the programme was Dr. T.B Chettri. The other members of the farewell committee were Mrs. Sonam Choden Bhutia, Dr. Punam Chettri, Mrs. Bhawana Gurung and Dr. Deependra Chamlagai.
